Horseback riding
We ride every day but Sunday—everything from arena work to moving cattle!
Western barbeque
Down at the ponds under massive cottonwood trees. How do you like your steak cooked?
Day trips to historic Cody, Wyoming and Red Lodge, Montana
Explore the western town of Cody and visit the famous Buffalo Bill Historical Center —internationally recognized for its appreciation of Western culture and the mystique and love of Buffalo Bill himself; take in the World Famous Cody Night Rodeo (rodeo tickets are not included in the price of the Ranch Vacation); have an elegant dinner at another of Buffalo Bill’s favorite stops – The Pollard Hotel on Broadway in Red Lodge (did you know it was once robbed by the Sundance Kid?); and stroll the historic main streets of both towns for unique and authentic western shopping.
Tour Yellowstone National Park
We'll take you in at Cooke City for a wonderful view from the Top Of The World Café, then view the wildlife through the Lamar Valley, do the circle down to see Old Faithful Geyser and back up through Cody. It's an all day trip and we do it
on Sunday.
Pig Races at Bear Creek Saloon
This is a fun evening for children and adults. Meet our neighbors and place
your bets!
Wagon Rides
We'll hook up ol' Tom to the wagon and haul you to the ponds for the Barbecue and the Pitch Fork Fondue. And after supper, he'll haul you back home!
Campfires and Western Music
Sit by the campfire and listen to live western music! Make s’mores, or roast marshmallows.
Fishing/Fly Fishing
The Clark's Fork River has plenty of German Brown and Cut Throat Trout. We have a few poles, but if you're a dedicated fly fisherman, you will probably want to bring your own.
Other activities you may want to experience
Drive to the Pryor Mountain Wild Horse Range, visit Chief Plenty Coups State Park, experience the Chief Joseph Highway or the Clark Fish Hatchery.
Wildlife viewing, up close and personal
There is a constant show of nature's wildlife at the ranch. In summer we listen to the call of meadowlarks, Sand hill cranes, Blue herons, and hawks; and we’re often treated to the sight of pelicans floating the river. Fall is an ideal time to spot or hunt wild turkey, pheasants or geese. During the cooler months, there are numerous Bald eagles perched in the trees along the Clarks Fork. Our ranch is an ideal setting to see white tail, mule deer, fox, and coyote with
an occasional visit from a bear, mountain lion, moose or elk.
